Aroma fruttato
Corpo robustoThe Cesanese Del Piglio Rospiglioso di Falesco comes from 100% Cesanese grapes grown in the Piglio area, in the province of Frosinone, which gives its name to the denomination that is contributing to the limelight of Lazio wine. For this red with a true and indomitable character, the vinification - which includes the processes of alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation - took place in steel as well as the refinement which took place for a few months before bottling. The Cesanese del Piglio DOCG was established in 2011 and covers a small area of the province of Frosinone including the municipalities of Piglio, Acuto, Serrone, Anagni and Paliano. According to the specification, the admitted vines are Cesanese di Affile or Cesanese comune for a minimum of 90%. The remaining percentage can be represented by black berried grapes suitable for cultivation in the province itself.
The Cesanese Del Piglio DOCG Rospiglioso di Falesco has an intense ruby red colour in the glass. On the nose, it expresses enveloping aromas of ripe red fruit that combine with persuasive hints of dark spices. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied, characterised by a soft and vigorous tannic texture and a delicate fresh-savoury trail that makes the sip pleasant. At the table, it goes well with cured meats and semi-aged cheeses but also with structured land recipes based on red meats or game.
