The Cesanese del Piglio di Villa Gordiani is born from a blend of Cesanese comune and Cesanese d'Affile grapes grown in the Piglio area in the province of Frosinone. The original vineyards are trained using unilateral spurred cordon on red soils rich in iron and aluminum oxide. Harvest took place in the second decade of October. The red winemaking process included a long 30-day maceration of the must on the skins.

CESANESE DEL PIGLIO VILLA GORDIANI: TASTING

The Cesanese del Piglio di Villa Gordiani is of intense ruby red color. On the nose, it offers aromas of red fruits, pink and violet combined with hints of Mediterranean herbs, and spicy notes of vanilla and licorice. The palate is full-bodied and enveloping, supported by balanced tannins and a pleasant fruity and spicy finish. It pairs well with aged cheeses as well as savory dishes based on tomato and/or red meats.
