Corpo robustoTerre Nere's Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2013 is obtained from 100% Sangiovese Grosso grapes produced in the area of Castelnuovo dell'Abate, a hamlet of Montalcino (SI). Here the soils are mainly composed of galestro - friable rock with a clayey matrix typical of the Apennines - and are located at an average altitude of 280 metres above sea level. The average age of the vines of origin is 16 years. For this prestigious red, the maceration on the skins (necessary to extract substances, aromas and colour) lasted 20-25 days at a controlled temperature of 28° C-30° C. The refinement took place for 36 months in large Slavonian oak barrels plus a further 6 months in the bottle.
Terre Nere's Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2013 seduces the eye with its pale ruby red colour with garnet reflections. On the nose, it expresses intense notes of cherry and ripe red fruit that combine with balsamic hints and toasted notes of tobacco. The sip is rich and silky, characterised by an elegant and smooth tannic texture and a delicate fresh-savoury trail that persists in the long finish. At the table, it goes well with cured meats and aged cheeses and succulent land dishes based on red meats and game.
