Corpo robustoThe Brunello di Montalcino Casanovina Montosoli - Le Ragnaie comes from one of the most prestigious and historically celebrated areas of the appellation: Montosoli, located north of Montalcino. On well-exposed slopes with soils rich in galestro and limestone, Le Ragnaie cultivates the Casanovina vineyard, acquired in 2012 and managed organically. The vineyard sits at around 300 meters above sea level, benefiting from a breezy microclimate and mineral-rich soils that impart structure, elegance, and remarkable aromatic complexity to the Sangiovese. Winemaking follows the estate’s non-interventionist philosophy: spontaneous fermentations, gentle extraction, and long aging (over 40 months) in large Slavonian oak casks. Casanovina Montosoli is among the most powerful yet refined expressions of the Le Ragnaie project, blending the strength of its cru with the winery’s stylistic finesse. A Brunello with significant aging potential, authentically reflecting the voice of its terroir.
Deep ruby red with garnet highlights. The bouquet is broad and layered, offering notes of sour cherry, blackberry, and orange peel, followed by hints of graphite, tobacco, oriental spices, and balsamic herbs. On the palate, it is vigorous and enveloping, with dense but polished tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, harmonious finish marked by salinity and persistence. A Brunello both powerful and precise, with extraordinary elegance.
