Corpo robustoGiuseppe Rinaldi Barolo Cannubi San Lorenzo – Ravera 2005 expresses the most elegant and aromatic side of Barolo according to one of the greatest traditional producers of the Langhe. Made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes, it combines two historic and complementary crus: Cannubi San Lorenzo, known for its finesse and fragrant character, and Ravera, which contributes freshness, mineral tension and structure. The balanced and refined 2005 vintage is now particularly sought after by wine enthusiasts and collectors.
Giuseppe “Beppe” Rinaldi devoted his life to preserving the classical idea of Barolo as a blend of different vineyard sites. Vinification follows an uncompromisingly traditional approach, with fermentation in open wooden vats using indigenous yeasts, extended skin maceration and ageing in large oak casks. There is no new oak and no attempt to impose a modern style, allowing the character of Nebbiolo and the identity of the vineyards to remain fully transparent. Following changes to the regulations governing geographical mentions, this historic label was replaced by Barolo Tre Tine from the 2010 vintage.
In the glass, it displays a luminous, evolved garnet colour. The bouquet is complex and layered, revealing dried rose petals, preserved cherries, red berries, leather, tobacco, truffle and balsamic herbs. The palate remains elegant and vibrant, supported by fresh acidity, beautifully integrated tannins and a long, savoury finish with earthy and spicy nuances. Serve at approximately 18 °C after allowing the wine sufficient time to breathe. It pairs beautifully with braised meats, roasts, game, truffle pasta and mature cheeses.
