Corpo robustoThe Barolo Bussia DOCG 2015 by Aldo Conterno is an excellent example of the quality and winemaking tradition of Piedmont. Produced exclusively with Nebbiolo grapes from the prestigious Bussia cru, located in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba, this wine reflects the excellence of the Langhe terroir. The Bussia vineyards, which extend over calcareous and clayey soils, are situated at an altitude between 350 and 400 meters above sea level, benefiting from an optimal exposure that favors the maturation of the grapes. The harvest is manual, followed by a meticulous selection of the grapes in the cellar. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by a prolonged maceration to extract the best aromas and tannins. The aging takes place in Slavonian oak barrels for 28 months, giving the wine structure and complexity.
The Barolo Bussia 2015 by Aldo Conterno presents itself in the glass with an intense garnet red color. On the nose, it reveals complex aromas of ripe berries, plum, and black cherry, enriched by floral notes of rose and violet, and spicy nuances of vanilla, cinnamon, and licorice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and harmonious, with silky and well-integrated tannins that provide a pleasant structure. The freshness and minerality balance the intensity of the fruit, culminating in a long, persistent finish with notes of tobacco, cocoa, and a hint of menthol. This Barolo is ideal to accompany red meat dishes, braised meats, and aged cheeses, and it expresses its full potential with further aging in the bottle.
