Fine WineThe Barolo Brunate DOCG 2020 by Vietti is an extraordinary example of Piedmontese winemaking, originating from one of the most prestigious crus in the Langhe. The Nebbiolo grapes, used 100% for this wine, are cultivated in the Brunate vineyards located between the towns of La Morra and Barolo. These vineyards are characterized by calcareous-clay soil and a southwest exposure that promotes optimal grape ripening. The unique climate of this area, with hot summers and cold winters, contributes to the creation of a wine with great structure and complexity. The harvest is done manually, carefully selecting the best bunches. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, with a maceration of 3-4 weeks. Subsequently, the wine matures in oak barrels for about 30 months, further developing its aromatic and structural complexity.
The Barolo Brunate DOCG 2020 presents itself with an intense garnet red color. On the nose, the wine reveals a complex and enveloping bouquet, with notes of ripe red fruits, cherries, and plums, followed by hints of rose, tobacco, sweet spices, and a touch of dark chocolate. On the palate, the Brunate 2020 is powerful and refined, with silky and well-integrated tannins that give it a solid structure. The wine’s freshness perfectly balances its richness, while the long finish is characterized by a return of fruity and spicy notes, with hints of licorice and menthol. This Barolo has great aging potential, evolving beautifully over the years. At the table, it pairs magnificently with roasted meats, game, and aged cheeses, enhancing every course with its elegance and complexity.
