Corpo robustoThe Bricco dell' Uccellone di Braida was born in 1982, when Giacomo Bologna began experimenting with his innovative idea of Barbera - barrique pairing: the vintage was exceptional; when the wine came out of the barriques, the Californian enologist André Tchelistcheff arrived in Italy who approved it, decreeing its success. L'Uccellone was the nickname of a woman who lived on the hill (bricco) of the vineyards. Her nose resembled a bird's beak, and she always wore black: this earned her the nickname in the village. The wine is produced with Barbera grapes vinified with 20 days of maceration, 12 months of ageing in oak and 1 year of rest in the bottle.
The Bricco dell'Uccellone di Braida is presented in the glass with a deep ruby red with garnet reflections. On the nose, it is slightly ethereal, rich in red and black fruit, on a background of mentholated balms and sweet spices. In the mouth, it is of remarkable structure, juicy softness and long on the fruit. Very good accompanied by a fillet of Fassona with truffles.
