Fine WineThe Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva Sergio Zenato di Zenato was produced using 80% Corvina Veronese, 10% Rondinella, and 10% Oseleta and Croatina grapes from the territory of the municipality of Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella (VR). The vineyards, facing Southeast and Southwest, are situated on limestone-rich, skeleton-rich soils at an altitude ranging from 300 to 350 meters above sea level. After the harvest, carried out with a yield of 80 quintals per hectare, the grapes were placed in special crates and prepared for drying in the fruttaio for 3-4 weeks. The vinification involved maceration of the must in contact with the skins for 15-20 days at a temperature of 23-25°C. The refinement took place for 36 months in oak barrels.
The extrapolated Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva Sergio Zenato di Zenato presents a ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, it reveals aromas of red fruits in jam that combine with balsamic hints and notes of chocolate and dark spices. The taste is intense and enveloping, enhanced by velvety tannins and a long fruity and spicy finish. Ideal as a meditation wine, it pairs exceptionally well with rich earthy dishes based on red meats or game.
