Aroma fruttatoThe Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOCG Costasera di Masi was produced from Corvina (70%), Rondinella (15%), Oseleta (10%), and Molinara (5%) grapes grown in the Gargagnago di Valopolicella (VR) region. After the harvest, the clusters were subjected to a long over-ripening on bamboo racks, a practice that increased the sugar concentration of the fruits. After the gentle pressing phase, the must was fermented for a period of 45 days to convert the sugars into alcohol. Subsequently, malolactic fermentation took place, which rounded off the aromatic and structural edges of the wine. Before bottling, the Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOCG Costasera di MasiAmarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOCG Costasera di Masi rested for 40 months in 600-liter Slavonian oak barrels.
The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOCG Costasera di MasiAmarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOCG Costasera di Masi seduces the sight with its intense ruby red color. On the nose it expresses aromas of plum, cherry, and red fruit under spirit intertwined with evolved notes of cocoa, roasted coffee, and dark spices. The sip is majestic and of great structure, enhanced by a tannic texture smoothed by an elegant fresh-sapidity trail that lingers in the long fruity and spicy finish. Ideal as a wine for the end of a meal, it pairs well at the table with aged cheeses and important dishes based on red meat or game.
