Masi's Amarone della Valpolicella Costasera is produced with Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes. The historic headquarters of Masi is located in Gargagnago, in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica, an area that extends over the hills between Lake Garda and Verona; this Amarone takes its name from its south-west exposure, towards the sunset and Lake Garda, a particularly happy position. The grapes wither during the winter months on the bamboo racks in the loft, as per tradition.

AMARONE COSTASERA MASI: TASTING

Masi's Amarone Costasera has a very intense ruby colour with garnet reflections; on the nose, it is traditional in the notes of cooked fruit and in alcohol, in the references to tobacco and sweet spices, in the hints of bitter cocoa. In the mouth, it is broad, full, balanced, with the taste well in line with the olfactory aromas. Try it with a thick soup of wild boar and porcini, or, at the end of the meal, with medium and well-aged cheeses.
