Alzero Cabernet Veneto IGT 2017 – Quintarelli

An extraordinarily intense red wine by Giuseppe Quintarelli, produced in Veneto, on the hills of Valpolicella. The vintage is 2017, and the wine is made from Cabernet Franc (40%), Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), and Merlot (20%), with an alcohol content of 16.5% ABV.

Production follows the estate’s traditional method: careful grape selection, natural drying in wooden boxes or on rush mats, winter pressing, long maceration and fermentation, followed by very extended aging in wood, between French oak barriques and Slavonian oak casks, until bottling. It is a wine of rare depth, shaped by a vision that combines concentration, elegance, and longevity.

In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red with garnet hues color. On the nose, it is broad and layered, with notes of ripe forest berries, black cherry, plum, tobacco, dark chocolate, spices, and light balsamic hints. On the palate, it is powerful, velvety, and structured, with fine tannins and a very long finish. Ideal pairings include roasts, game, braised meats, aged cheeses, and rich meat-based dishes. Recommended serving temperature: 18–20 °C.
