The Deveron 12 year old is produced by the Deveron brand that belongs to the famous Macduff distillery, founded after World War II and owned by John Dewar & Sons. It is a label with an elegant and delicate character that best expresses the style of this important Scottish brand. It is a whisky of great expressive purity and non-spicy flavour, which focuses mainly on the fruity fragrance and floral finesse of its delicate aromas. Deveron is a single malt aged for at least 12 years in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks before bottling. It owes its name to the river Deveron, which flows past the distillery and into the North Sea. 

The Deveron 12 year old: Tasting notes

The colour is golden yellow and the aroma is fresh, with notes of freshly cut grass, apples, caramel and a hint of ginger. The flavour is soft and light with notes of apples, butter, vanilla and hints of cinnamon biscuits. The finish is short-lived with hints of vanilla, floral notes and a light touch of sweet oak.
