This is a rare bottle. Some bottles in the Etilika catalogue, explicitly described as 'Fine Wine' or 'Rare Bottle', may come from collections, trade and specialised dealers. Every single bottle is carefully checked by our team of experienced sommeliers before being included in the catalogue, but we cannot guarantee that it has been perfectly preserved before entering our warehouses. For the products in question, detailed photographs are taken and any anomalies are described, such as a label or capsule not being in perfect condition or the level of wine inside the bottle not being completely full. No exchange or refund requests are accepted for these bottles and the 'as seen and liked' clause is therefore applied.

Antinori's Tignanello comes from the vineyard of the same name situated within the historic Tignanello Estate in San Casciano in Val di Pesa (FI). Here the soils are limestone enriched with tufaceous elements and are situated at an altitude between 350 and 400 metres above sea level. The composition of the blend has remained unchanged since 1982: Sangiovese with a small part of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Ageing took place for 14-16 months in French and Hungarian oak barrels, partly new and partly second-hand, with a further 12 months resting in the bottle. This is a legendary wine that cannot be missing from the cellar of every connoisseur. In fact, Tignanello not only enjoys international fame, but also holds a number of important records: it was the first Sangiovese to be aged in barriques, as well as the first modern red to be blended with non-traditional grape varieties such as Cabernet. Finally, it was among the first Chianti Classico reds not to use white grapes. It is only produced in the best vintages.

TIGNANELLO ANTINORI: THE TASTING

Antinori's Tignanello presents itself to the eye with an intense ruby red colour. Crisp aromas of morello cherry and small berries emerge on the nose, which combine with balsamic hints of mint and notes of chocolate and dark spices. The palate is harmonious and supported by a smooth tannic texture that combines with a well-integrated freshness and elegant minerality.
