Monks of Dariali Saperavi Qvevri 2025 is a dry Georgian red that combines one of the country's historic grapes with traditional earthenware winemaking. Carefully selected hand-picked grapes, fermentation on the skins and ageing in qvevri define how this wine is made.

Saperavi from the Caucasus Mountains

The Saperavi comes from Mtskheta-Mtianeti, in a Caucasus mountain landscape at around 1,300 metres above sea level. Alluvial soils include sandstone, limestone, clay, stones and pebbles, providing a distinctive setting for this Georgian red.

Skin contact and ageing in clay

After hand harvesting and bunch selection, the must ferments in qvevri with the skins for three weeks. Ageing continues in these traditional clay vessels. The method offers a direct expression of Georgia's earthenware tradition applied to a red grape.
