Banfi's Rosso di Montalcino DOC is born from 100% Sangiovese grapes grown on the southern slope of the Montalcino hill, on a soil rich in pebbles, silt and clayey sands, at an average altitude of 100 metres above sea level. After harvesting and selection, the grapes were fermented in combined steel and Horizon French oak vats with maceration of 7-10 days. The refinement took place for 12 months, partly in barriques, partly in large oak barrels. Before being released, the wine rested for a further 6 months in the bottle. Banfi's Rosso di Montalcino maintains the characteristics of the elegance of its older brother Brunello, expressing, unlike the latter, a more agile and immediate and therefore more versatile personality.

ROSSO DI MONTALCINO BANFI: TASTING

Banfi's Rosso di Montalcino DOC shows an intense ruby red in the glass. On the nose, it has aromas of plum and ripe red fruit that are chased together with hints of coffee, tobacco and sweet spices. The sip is full and balanced, supported by an intriguing fresh-savoury trail that increases the pleasure of drinking. With an excellent persistent finish. At the table, it goes well with semi-aged cheeses but also with land recipes based on red meats or game.
