Aroma fruttato
Corpo robustoMegonio di Librandi is a red wine of great personality obtained from 100% Magliocco grapes cultivated in the Tenuta Rosaneti, in the area of Rocca di Neto and Casabona, in the province of Crotone. The vineyards here are pruned-spur trained and are located on clayey and limestone soils. The harvest was carried out with a yield of 65 quintals per hectare in the first decade of October. The winemaking process included a phase of alcoholic fermentation with maceration of the must on the skins for 15 days. Aging was for 12 months in Alliers oak barrels and for an additional 6 months in the bottle. The name Megonio di Librandi is inspired by that of the Roman centurion who settled in Calabria in the 2nd century A.D., being the first to narrate the viticulture of the region.
Megonio di Librandi presents itself to the eye with an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it expresses aromas of cherry and small red fruits combined with floral hints of rose and notes of undergrowth and dark spices. The taste is intense and concentrated, enhanced by structured tannins and a long mineral finish. It pairs well with aged cheeses as well as succulent land dishes based on red meats.
