Aroma fruttato
Corpo medioThe Pinot Grigio di Livio Felluga is a wine that is decidedly representative, both for the company and for the territory, so much so that it has been chosen as the reference for a selection of 1956 (foundation date) bottles packaged in the original version to celebrate the 50 years of "Carta Geografica", the historical, never replaced label. The lands are typical of the area, Flysch of marls and sandstones of Eocene origin, also called "Ponca". The harvest takes place in the first decade of September; the grapes are gently destemmed and left to macerate for a short period. Subsequently, they are softly pressed and the resulting must is clarified through decantation; the must then ferments at a controlled temperature in stainless steel containers. After fermentation, the wine is left on the lees in stainless steel containers for 6 months, followed by a further 2 months in the bottle.
The Pinot Grigio di Livio Felluga has a beautiful straw color with pink and copper reflections. The nose is kaleidoscopic, with notes of orange blossom, daisy, and wisteria, then ripe fruit with apricot, white melon, and yellow peach standing out; sweet sensations of custard and crème brûlée follow, well balanced by the freshness of citrus fruits. On the palate it is voluminous and crunchy, fresh and enveloping, with excellent aromatic correspondence and pleasant savoriness; the finish is tense and very persistent with an aftertaste of citrus fruits and white fruit. Excellent paired with a risotto with wild asparagus and mussels.
