The Paleo Rosso di Le Macchiole was obtained from 100% Cabernet Franc grapes grown in the territory of Castagneto Carducci, a hamlet of Bolgheri, in the province of Livorno. The vineyard of origin, named Casa Nuova, is situated on clayey soils characterized by abundant skeleton of sandstone origin, at an altitude of about 32 meters above sea level. During the winemaking process, alcoholic fermentation took place with maceration of the must in contact with the skins for about 20 days. The aging process took place in new barriques for 18 months.

The Paleo Rosso di Le Macchiole extracted Le Macchiole presents itself with an intense ruby red color with purple reflections. On the nose, it expresses aromas of cherry and ripe wild berries that combine with clear hints of Mediterranean scrub and evolved notes of licorice and dark spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied and deep, enhanced by elegant tannins and a gentle fresh-sapidity with a long fruity and balsamic finish. It pairs well with aged cheeses as well as elaborate dishes based on red meats or game.
