Corpo medioThe Moscadello di Montalcino DOC Vendemmia Tardiva 2015 of La Poderina was obtained from 100% Moscato Bianco grapes, grown in the hilly areas at the foot of the Abbey of Sant'Antimo located in Castelnuovo dell'Abate, a hamlet of Montalcino (SI). The manual harvest was carried out late on bunches attacked by noble rot (created as a result of the action of Botrytis Cinerea, a fungus that metabolises the skin of the grapes) which gives the berries particular aromas. After pressing, the grapes were transferred to stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation took place at a controlled temperature of 15-18° C. Before bottling, La Poderina's Moscadello di Montalcino DOC Vendemmia Tardiva 2015 is aged for 9 months in stainless steel on the fine lees, or on the residues of fermentation, thus enriching itself in terms of body, substances and aromas.
The Moscadello di Montalcino DOC Vendemmia Tardiva 2015 by La Poderina is presented in the glass with a seductive golden yellow colour. On the nose, it expresses aromas of apricot and dried yellow pulp fruit intertwined with hints of honey and delicate notes of aromatic herbs. The sip is soft and pleasantly aromatic, enhanced by a gentle freshness well balanced with sweetness. Excellent as a wine at the end of a meal, at the table it goes well with dry pastries as well as cakes and pies based on fruit and custard. Try it paired with fois gras.
