Corpo robustoMasseto Toscana Rosso di MassetoMasseto Toscana Rosso of Masseto is a highly prestigious label made with 100% Merlot, a real point of reference for wine enthusiasts and connoisseurs. The vineyard from which it originates is divided into three parts - Centrale, Junior, and Alto - in the territory of Bolgheri (LI). In this area, the soils are characterized by loamy clays and blue clays, located at an altitude of about 120 meters above sea level. In the winery, the carefully selected clusters underwent soft pressing. Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel at a temperature of 25-28°C, with maceration of the must on the skins for 15-20 days. The blending of the three parcels occurred after 12 months of aging in barriques. Subsequently, the wine further matured for another 12 months in the same containers.
The Masseto Toscana Rosso di Masseto stands out in the glass with an intense ruby red color and bright reflections. On the nose, it releases aromas of ripe berries, violet petals, and dark spice notes. Integrated into the olfactory profile are hints of Mediterranean scrubland, tobacco, and cocoa powder. The palate is intense, structured, and with good freshness, supported by a mature and silky tannic texture. It finishes with a long and engaging balsamic and spicy finale. When paired with food, it goes well with aged cheeses and succulent dishes of red meats or game.
