Aroma fruttato
Corpo medioThe Malvasia by Kante is, says Edi, ""the only variety with which I was able to capture the flavor of the sea."" The vineyard is located on the Karst Plateau in Trieste, which has an average altitude of 250 meters above sea level and is composed of red earth and limestone soils with strong drainage. The vines are planted at a density of 5,500 plants per hectare with a yield of 1 kg per plant and are cultivated using the single Guyot training system, a technique characteristic of this grower for more than 20 years. The vinification of this white wine foresees 12 months of aging in old French oak barrels and 6 months of stabilization in steel tanks. The wine is bottled without filtration.
The Malvasia by Kante enters the glass with a clear, intense straw yellow color. On the nose, it perfectly mirrors the Karst terrain. The wine expresses itself with floral tones such as lime blossom and broom, with fruity notes of peach, currant, pineapple, and navel orange, as well as hints of spontaneous aromatic herbs. In the mouth it is savory with light smoky notes, bits of thyme and mint, and a pleasantly almond finish. To be tasted on its own, then served with roasted chicken with herbs.
