The Guidalberto  di Tenuta San GuidoGuidalberto  from Tenuta San Guido is made up of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and 40% Merlot grapes grown on partially clayey soil, characterized by limestone-rich areas with stones and galestro (a friable rock typical of the Tuscan Apennines). The vineyards are exposed to the south/south-west at an altitude between 100 and 300 meters above sea level. After the vinification phase, the wine has rested for 15 months in French oak barrels (and for a small part American oak). The wine is named after Guidalberto della Gherardesca, great-great-grandfather of Nicolò Incisa della Rocchetta, administrator of Tenuta San Guido and son of Mario, creator of the famous Sassicaia first marketed with the vintage 1968.

Tenuta San Guido's Guidalberto mesmerizes at first sight with its intense ruby red color. Enveloping scents of cherry and wild berries merge with hints of aromatic herbs and dark spices to create a broad and seductive olfactory picture. Elegance and fullness of fruit define the palate, with smooth tannins and a gentle freshness that enhance its pleasantness. Incredibly persistent finish. It pairs well with semi-mature cheeses as well as earth-based pasta dishes and red meat or game mains.
