The Gorgona Bianco di Frescobaldi was obtained from Vermentino and Ansonica grapes cultivated on the island of Gorgona, the only penitentiary island in Italy belonging to the Tuscan Archipelago and located 20 miles west of Livorno. The Gorgona wines project is indeed born from the collaboration between Frescobaldi and the local prison institution, with the aim of allowing inmates to acquire professional skills that facilitate their future social and work reintegration, working in contact with nature. The production process of the Gorgona Bianco di FrescobaldiGorgona Bianco involved a refining period of 7 months in stainless steel and in barriques.

The Gorgona Bianco di FrescobaldiGorgona Bianco Costa Toscana by Frescobaldi presents itself in the glass with an intense straw yellow color with golden reflections. On the nose, it expresses aromas of white pulpy fruit combined with hints of rosemary, helichrysum, and aromatic herbs, as well as enveloping saline notes that evoke the nearby sea. The palate is smooth and enveloping, enhanced by a clear balance between freshness and minerality and a long and persistent finish. It pairs well with fresh and semi-aged cheeses, vegetarian dishes, and tasty seafood recipes based on white fish, shellfish, and crustaceans.
