Tramin's Gewürztraminer Epokale is made from 100% Gewürztraminer grapes from two old vineyards located in Sella, at an altitude between 420 and 440 metres above sea level. We are in the area of Termeno (BZ), or rather in the cradle of Gewürztraminer which reaches the heights of its expressive potential. The soils are south-east facing and characterised by gravel and clay with a porphyry rock background. The refinement takes place in small steel containers in contact with the yeasts for 8 months. After bottling, the wine is transported to the Monteneve mine, in Val Ridanna, at an altitude of over 2000 metres where it rested for 7 years in the dark in constant temperature (11°C) and humidity (90%) conditions. Tramin's Epokale is a reminder of a distant era in which Gewürztraminer wine was produced with a generous residual sugar to strengthen the body and soul.

Gewürztraminer Alto Adige DOC Epokale 2011 by Tramin shines in a seductive golden yellow colour in the glass. Wide and deep, on the nose, it reveals overwhelming aromas of lychees and ripe tropical yellow fruit combined with floral hints of rose and lavender and notes of ginger and sweet spices. On the palate, it is elegant, harmonious and juicy, with a well-balanced sweetness to the freshness that conquers at the first sip. Pleasant and decisive the mineral trail that gives pride and persists in the long and exciting fruity and spicy finish. At the table, it goes well with soft cheeses as well as meat main courses prepared with spicy and sweet components. Excellent with fresh fruit desserts.
