The Erbaluce Lucilla di Pietro Cassina is a pure Erbaluce that is born in the Tenuta Cascina Chignalungo (Municipality of Lessona), from vineyards facing southeast to southwest at an altitude of 290 meters. The soils here are of fluvio-glacial origin, gravelly-sandy, coarse, and rich in minerals such as iron and manganese, a characteristic that outlines those typical mineral traits of the wines from the Lessona area. The grapes are selected on the vine, then again in the winery, gently pressed, and inoculated for the start of fermentation at a controlled temperature. Lucilla then refines for a variable period on the fine lees in steel.

ERBALUCE LUCILLA CASSINA: TASTING

The Erbaluce Lucilla di Pietro Cassina is bright and intense straw yellow; on the nose, it is a candid Erbaluce with notes of jasmine and hay, pear and yellow grapefruit, sage and fresh butter. In the mouth, it is fresh, savory, with a pleasantly bitter finish. Very good with green strips of fresh pasta with artichokes and lightly seared cuttlefish.
