Selvaia comes from Monteleone d’Orvieto and offers a deliberately different interpretation of Chardonnay from a straightforward stainless-steel style. Guerrini follows a minimal-intervention approach in both vineyard and cellar, allowing the grape and its place of origin to remain central.

Chardonnay according to Selvaia

The wine is made from 100% Chardonnay and falls under the Umbria IGT designation. Its defining technical feature is the ageing regime: the WineHunter technical sheet reports the use of at least 70% new barriques, giving Selvaia a more ambitious and structured approach than a style focused exclusively on freshness.

Monteleone d’Orvieto and the Guerrini signature

The winery is based in Monteleone d’Orvieto, Umbria, and describes its wines as expressions of grape and terroir crafted with minimal intervention. Selvaia applies this philosophy to a wood-aged Chardonnay while keeping its Umbrian origin and varietal identity at the centre.

Recognition for the 2025 vintage

The 2025 vintage received The WineHunter Award Rosso, a distinction awarded to wines in the 90-92.9 point band. The official Merano WineFestival selection also presents Selvaia as a 100% Chardonnay aged predominantly in new barriques.
