The Brunello di Montalcino Poggio alle Mura Banfi is the winery’s ultimate expression. It is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes, hand-selected from the estate’s best vineyards located at an altitude of 250 meters. The maceration takes place partly in wood and partly in steel for about 12 days, followed by aging for 24 months—90% in barriques and the remainder in Slavonian barrels. Before being released, it undergoes an additional 12 months of bottle aging.

BRUNELLO POGGIO ALLE MURA BANFI: TASTING NOTES

Poggio alle Mura by Banfi shows an intense ruby red color. On the nose, the complex bouquet reveals red and forest fruits, jammy plum, and spicy hints of vanilla, tobacco, and licorice. On the palate, its impressive structure is immediately noticeable, yet it remains fresh and approachable. The robust body and smooth tannic texture make it a wine ready to enjoy now, but it will clearly improve with age.
