Laphroaig 1968 16 Year Old is an independent bottling of Sestante Import, originally bottled by Gordon&MacPhail.

Distillery

Laphroaig is the largest of Islay's three plus distilleries in Kildalton. Laphroaig was the first distillery to bottle whisky as a single malt back in the 1920s. Despite its traditional appearance, therefore, Laphroaig has always been a future-oriented distillery. It is also one of the few distilleries in Scotland that still uses domestically produced malts, supplying them with 20% of their annual requirements and contributing to the unique and unmistakable flavour profile of its whisky.

Sestante Import

Sestante Import was founded in the 1970s by Ernesto Mainardi and has been bottling its first single casks under this name since 1985. Together with his contemporary, Silvano Samaroli, Mainardi pioneered the best whiskies ever created and marketed on the market.
