The Villamagna di Palazzo Battaglini is born from 100% Montepulciano grapes from vineyards trained in the Abruzzo pergola system in the area of Villamagna di Palazzo BattagliniVillamagna in the province of Chieti. The altitude is 255 meters above sea level. The manual harvest was carried out at the end of October with a yield of approximately 120 quintals per hectare. During the red vinification process, the must stayed on the skins for 18 days and was followed by static settling in large barrels. Aging took place for 12 months in barriques and for an additional 12 months in the bottle. For its wines, Palazzo Battaglini uses Dring, the innovative bottle with an integrated drip saver. It is a patented device that allows pouring the wine without any drops falling from the bottle. No more wine stains on the tablecloth.
The Villamagna di Palazzo Battaglini stands out with an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it offers scents of cherry and ripe red berries that mingle with hints of violet potpourri and warm notes of cloves and dark spices. The palate is warm and soft, supported by a well-integrated tannic structure. Versatile at the table, it pairs well with cheeses and tasty meat-based dishes, especially those with tomatoes and/or red meats.
