The Syracide di Sergio Mottura is born from 100% Syrah grapes from a 1-hectare estate vineyard, with a planting density of 8000 plants. The vinification process took place in stainless steel and included a 20-day maceration phase of the must in contact with the skins, with continuous pump-overs and rackings. Aging occurred in barriques for 12 months and for an additional 6 months in the bottle.
The extrapolated wine Syracide di Sergio MotturaSyracide from Mottura presents an intense ruby red color. On the nose, aromas of ripe small red fruits mingle with subtle hints of rose potpourri and warm notes of black pepper and dark spices. The palate is full-bodied and balanced, supported by mature tannins leading to a long spicy finish. Ideal to pair with aged cheeses as well as rich earthy dishes based on red meats such as an exquisite English-style meatloaf.
