Sfide by La Madeleine was born from 100% Cabernet Franc grapes harvested by hand in the company's vineyards between Narni and Otricoli in the province of Terni at an average altitude of 160 metres above sea level. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 6 months in steel, for 10-14 months in French oak barriques and, finally, for 2 months in the bottle. Umbria Rosso IGT Sfide is a wine produced with a low content of added sulphites, following the protocol of the Wine Research Team (WRT).

CABERNET FRANC CHALLENGES THE MADELEINE: TASTING

The Cabernet Franc Sfide of the La Madeleine winery shows an intense ruby red colour with violet reflections. On the nose, it reveals hints of ripe red fruit combined with docile vegetal and balsamic notes. On the palate, it is soft and full-bodied, supported by velvety tannins and a trail of freshness that invites the second sip. At the table, it goes well with cured meats and aged cheeses as well as with first and second courses based on red meats and game.
