Briziarelli's Rosso di Montefalco DOC 2019 was born from a blend of Sangiovese (60%), Merlot (30%) and Sagrantino (10%) grapes grown on soils facing south/west at an average altitude of 265 meters above sea level and hand-picked. Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature with maceration on the skins for a period of 22 days. After the malolactic fermentation (which made the taste and body of the must softer) the wine rested in steel for 20 months to which a further 4 months were added in the bottle. About 20,000 bottles of Rosso di Montefalco Biriziarelli are produced per year.
Briziarelli's Rosso di Montefalco DOC 2019 shines at the sight with an intense ruby red colour. On the nose, it offers persuasive scents of sour cherries and wild berries that intertwine with hints of cocoa and aromatic herbs. The sip is soft and elegant thanks to a well-integrated tannin and a balanced taste played on fruity and spicy notes. Pleasant and dry finish. At the table, it goes well with cured meats and semi-aged cheeses but also with land recipes based on red meats or game.
