The Pinot Nero Riserva di Cantina BolzanoPinot Nero Riserva from Cantina Bolzano is produced with grapes grown around 600 meters above sea level, in the Renon area, a warm and windy location with light porphyry-quartziferous soils. The care and attention to the soils and vines are of paramount importance to the winemakers of Kellerei Bozen - Cantina Bolzano, who daily employ a sustainable and nature-respectful approach to their work. The harvest takes place in September; the must ferments in wooden barrels, then the wine matures for 6 months in oak barrels, before further refining in the bottle before being released onto the market.
The Pinot Nero Riserva di Cantina Bolzano presents itself in the glass with an intense and bright ruby red color; on the nose, it is rich with fruity notes of cherry, plum, and raspberry, floral hints of rose, spicy notes of cinnamon and cloves, pleasant balsamic undertones of licorice. The palate is fresh, full of fruit, well-defined, and with velvety tannins. Delicious, slightly chilled, enjoyed with a tex-mex-style chili con carne, to be savored while looking beyond the ocean, or closer to home with a goulash soup.
Chili di carne alla maniera tex mex; zuppa di gulasch.
