The Pinot Nero Meczan di Hofstätter is produced from 100% Pinot Nero grapes grown in the Mazon plateau area on soil characterized by a conglomerate of clay, limestone, and porphyry. After the harvest, 75% of the grape bunches were destemmed and 25% were left intact for vinification. Alcoholic fermentation with maceration of the must on the skins lasted for 10 days. The aging process took place for several months in stainless steel.
The Pinot Nero Meczan di Hofstätter presents itself with a ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, it opens with aromas of berries and floral notes of violet that blend with subtle hints of graphite. The taste is soft and elegant, with smooth tannic texture and gentle minerality that lingers on the finish. It pairs well with cured meats, semi-aged cheeses, and delicious red meat or game-based dishes on the table.
