Lagrein Riserva Gries by Terlan is made from 100% Lagrein grapes grown in the Terlano area in the province of Bolzano. The vineyards, facing South and South-West, are situated at an altitude of about 250 meters above sea level. The harvest and selection of the bunches were carried out by hand. During the red vinification, alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature with maceration of the must on the skins. Aging was done for 12 months, with 50% in large wooden barrels and 50% in barriques, one-third of which were new. The blending took place over three months before bottling.
Lagrein Riserva Gries by Terlan presents itself with an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it boasts aromas of ripe red fruits followed by hints of violet and wet earth, along with notes of cocoa powder and dark spices. The taste is full and round, supported by smooth tannins and a persistent spicy finish. At the table, it pairs well with cheeses and succulent land-based dishes, especially those featuring red meat or game.
