The Greco di Tufo Cutizzi by Feudi di San Gregorio was born in an ancient and beautiful region, Irpinia, where vineyards, woods, olive trees, fruit trees and aromatic herbs coexist in harmony. The Greco vineyards of the Capaldo family are located in the municipality of Tufo, a municipality that takes its name from the volcanic rock of the same name and where in 1866 the existence of sulfur mines was discovered, the processing of which characterised the economy until the second postwar period, in the tiny municipality of Santa Paolina, of very ancient anthropization (the surrounding countryside is in fact frequented by man since the Neolithic age) from the more chalky soils, from which the grapes of the Cutizzi selection come from and in other neighbouring municipalities. The bunches are rigorously harvested by hand and vinified in steel, where the wine then rests for 4-5 months on its lees, with continuous batonnage, before bottling.
The Greco Cutizzi by Feudi enters the glass with a beautiful straw yellow with golden reflections. On the nose, it is generous in the notes of fruit, from the green Claudia plum to the Mastantuono pear (a small, round and very fragrant pear, typical of the inland areas of Campania), and in the notes of aromatic herbs with balsamic tones, such as mint. The taste is fresh and mineral, with an extension in line with the aromatic profile. Very versatile, it is excellent for example with fried anchovies.
