The Colorino from Fattoria di Piazzano is a wine to which the company dedicates great interest. The vineyards, oriented east-west, rest on loose soils rich in rocky fragments and skeleton. In August, green harvesting is carried out to thin out the clusters, then the mature grapes are selected and harvested in September. After a delicate destemming, the must ferments and macerates with indigenous yeasts in vitrified concrete tanks at a controlled temperature, with daily pump-overs to oxygenate the mass; the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and then matures in French oak barriques for 12/15 months and another 6 months in the bottle.

COLORINO FATTORIA DI PIAZZANO: TASTING

The Colorino from Fattoria di Piazzano has a deep ruby color. On the nose, hints of blackberry and sour cherry are enveloped by a breath of mountain pine and enriched by cloves, cinnamon, coriander, and damp earth. The palate unfolds with smooth tannins, beautiful balsamic freshness, softness, and structure. Definitely excellent paired with game and roasted potatoes.
