Antinori's Chianti Classico Riserva Marchese Antinori was born from a blend of Sangiovese (90%) and Cabernet grapes (10%) grown on the prestigious Tignanello estate in Mercatale in Val di Pesa, in the province of Florence, in the heart of the Chianti area Classic. After the harvest, the grapes were destemmed and softly pressed. The must obtained was transferred to stainless steel vats where alcoholic fermentation with maceration on the skins took place for a period of approximately 7 days, necessary for the extraction of aromas, colour and substances such as tannins. After malolactic fermentation, the wine was blended and aged for about 12 months in French and Hungarian oak barrels. Before being marketed, the Chianti Classico Riserva Marchese Antinori 2017 rested in the bottle for a further 12 months. It is produced only in the best vintages.
The Chianti Classico Riserva Marchese Antinori seduces the eye with its intense ruby red colour. On the nose, it releases enveloping aromas of cherry and ripe red fruit that blend with docile balsamic hints and warm notes of vanilla and sweet spices. The sip is round and balanced, characterised by a smooth tannic texture and a strong fresh-savoury trail that persists in the long finish. At the table, it goes well with cured meats and aged cheeses as well as with structured first and second courses based on red meats and game.
