The Brunello di Montalcino di Banfi by Banfi is made entirely from Sangiovese Grosso grapes grown on the company's estate, on the southern slope of Montalcino, at an average altitude of 220 meters above sea level. The winemaking process begins with the maceration of the grapes on the skins for a period of 10/12 days. The aging follows the classic approach of the cellar: 2 years, 50% in French oak barrels and 50% in French oak barriques, followed by a rest in the bottle for 8-12 months. The Brunello di Montalcino di Banfi is one of the iconic wines of the Banfi estate, first produced in 1978.
Banfi's Brunello di Montalcino di Banfi shines in the glass with a ruby red color and garnet reflections. Broad and complex, it releases a seductive range of scents of mature cherry, potpourri, and dark spices on the nose. The palate is soft, supported by a velvety tannic texture and accompanied by a full-bodied flavor that on the finish takes on spicy and tar nuances. Long and pleasant persistence. At the table, it pairs well with aged cheeses or succulent dishes of red meats or game.

Banfi è certamente uno dei nomi celebri del panorama vinicolo italiano. Alla fine degli anni ’70 i fratelli italo-americani John e Harry Mariani acquistarono la tenuta decisi a farne uno de principali punti di riferimento di Montalcino.
