The authentic Stravecchio Branca Brandy has a full and rich flavor, with notes of dried fruit, roasted nuts, bitter cocoa, warm honeyed hints, and hints of vanilla. In 1888, Fratelli Branca began producing Cognac under the brand Vieux Cognac Superieur in response to the growing interest in wine distillates. Following World War II, international treaties were signed that reduced the possibility of using the Cognac appellation for producers outside the French region. The brand was subsequently revised, although the methods and production site remained intact, eventually becoming today's Stravecchio Branca.

The historic distillery is still located in the heart of Milan, housing the "Mother Barrel": key to one of the most delicate phases of Stravecchio Brandy production. With a capacity of 84,000 liters, it is one of Europe's oldest and most imposing barrels. The distillate, obtained from selected wines, is transferred into the "Mother Barrel," which is never completely emptied to ensure at least one-third of its contents remains, imparting the distinctive "signature" to the subsequent distillate. Ideal for drinking neat without ice, it also serves as a perfect ingredient in refined cocktails such as the Sidecar.
